What makes our Workhorse amps so special?

Well, it's no secret that this amp has Fender DNA. But it is NOT just another AB763 clone. In fact, it's far from it.

It starts with a classic mid '60s preamp, with a classic tone stack. But each gain stage has been tweaked for both a high headroom, piano-like clean, but also a fat overdrive when cranked.

Our spring reverb is an original design, not just a clone of the classic circuit. It lets more of the original note come through, has a wider range of subtle to "underwater," and is sweeter with less "boing."

The phase inverter has been carefully designed to be as balanced as possible for both maximum clean headroom and output, and a very smooth, touch sensitive overdrive.

The transformers are also our design, with high fidelity, high headroom, but overall richness and responsiveness. They are paper layer wound for us by Heyboer Transformers. The low end has been carefully shaped to sound big but not get loose and flabby at high volumes or maximum gain. It also can be very tight and snappy if that's your jam.

The whole package comes together for an amp that has a large range of clean and dirty tones, awesome clarity, and an addictive "feel" that is really the whole point. These amps feel good to play, and really do feel like an extension of your guitar. That's what we're going for.
