Pai Mei:

Fuzz pedals that feature a three band EQ are pretty rare, as are fuzz pedals that have a gigantic range of fuzz. With that in mind, we proudly present the Pai Mei.

The EQ provides a wide range of tone shaping. At the lowest gain setting, you get a nice fat crunch, still fuzzy but more like a tube amp cranked all the way up, excellent for young apprentices not yet experienced in ways of fuzz. As you increase gain, you can achieve a huge fuzz not unlike a silicon fuzz face. The door to the Dark Arts is opening for you! Mid level settings are a total wall of fuzz, with a sustain that could live on for centuries by strength of will alone. Even further and you’re pushing so much harmonics that above the 12th fret you’ll hear a faint upper octave coming in now and again! Your majestic white brows raise in knowing wisdom. Maximum gain is a thick, gooey, gated fuzz that swells from your attack in a way that will make you stroke your long white beard in satisfaction.

Gain sets your overall amount of fuzz, the EQ can shape the fuzz from phat and bassy to thin and crispy, and Volume makes it louder. 

This pedal is perfect for singing leads, super heavy riffs, and genres like stoner rock and doom.  It also works well for a lot of other fuzz tones as well, it's very versatile.

“Hey Byron, I wanted to give the Pai Mei a good test drive, and I've been messing around with it for about a week now and I told you I'd give you an honest review. My number one requirement for a fuzz is that a variety of usable tones can be accessed via the guitar's volume, and the Pai Mei sounds fantastic no matter how I set the knobs. With my neck pickup rolled down to 1, I can get a bright, slightly gritty tone that I find very useful for rhythm. Switching to the bridge at full volume, it's a bulldozer. Great for single note riffs or lead lines. Another thing the Pai Mei does beautifully, is stack with boosts and drives. I love this, because it opens up so many potential combos. Lots more experimenting to do. Honestly, I can't believe how good this thing is. My favorite brands for dirt/fuzz have always been Skreddy, Earthquaker, and Basic Audio (and my trusty Zvex Fuzzolo).
